The idea of the hotel restaurant was born from two men, always been friends:
Léon BONNET and Jean Michel DUPIN.
One already worked in an hotel at Ibarron, the other one worked in bank at Bayonne and their bet was to create upon a no-man's land an hotel with 42 room close to the exit of the freeway of Bayonne South.
Their will : one leaves for the children.
They will give to SARL the name ' Aintznat ' (go Forward) and the SCI the name of 'Gaztien zat' (for the children). This establishment begins its history in July, 1989.
It is meant to be a family affair, then to constitute the team, the manager's post will be entrusted to the wife of Jean Michel DUPIN: Nita, the restaurant will be the responsibility of André, the brother of Nita, and in reception, Sylvie the wife of André.
Considering the success of this project, the capacity of the hotel is going to be soon augmented by 24 rooms, that is a total capacity of 66.
In 1997 François DUPIN will join the team, and in 1999 it will be the turn of Beñat BONNET.
They will both take back Nita's suite in 2001.
Work will be accomplished in 2004, to renovate and to extend the room of restaurant and its terrace.
It is on December 26th, 2004 (pretty Christmas present!) that this new restaurant will open. It will be called Hego ATEA (South Door), owing to its situation near BAYONNE.
Rooms will be also restored. Next year, it will be the turn of reception to be entirely built again.
An idea and a will on behalf of the fathers to leave to their sons a project for the future, an adventure and a professional tournament today shared by Beñat and François, eager to answer this call: Aintzinat! « go forward! »
